Goings Ons and Easter Stuff

 Easter season is among us and Luc has declared it's his new favorite holiday because he loved decorating eggs so much.

Luc thought drawing on the eggs with the clear crayon to then see what comes out after it's dipped in the dye was so amazing. After he discovered it, halfway through, he did it on every egg after. And they all looked the same, with the same scribbles. Except the one where he tried to draw flowers like I had done on mine.

While Luc was coloring eggs, Aria was hanging out with Grandpa.

Luc's school had an Eater Egg hunt outside (rain or shine, and it was sprinkling a little and was way too cold). He was allowed to grab as many as he could. Since there were a lot of kids there (the older kids were separated from the little ones so they didn't hog all the eggs), he got about a dozen. Inside were stickers, candy, finger puppets, and bracelets.
Daddy and Grandpa were doing the taxes, so Grandma came along for the fun.

We had some more time to kill before heading back to the house, so we went to Homestead Gardens. Little did we know that the Easter Bunny was also hanging out there too. Luc had no interest in going up to him or sitting on his lap. He didn't even want to give him a high five. He said, maybe next year.
Aria saw the bunny and immediately wanted to get down and go over to it. She was so excited. I think she thought it was an extra large stuffed animal (which she loves her stuffed animals). She slowly walked up to the bunny and touched his paw. Then we sat her on his lap and she had no problems.-Just sat there for a minute or two until we were done with pictures. At least the Easter Bunny was cute and not creepy like the usual mall bunnies.

Luc also got to do an egg hunt at Bonne-Maman and Bon-Papa's house. This year was the first year without his cousins there. :( Though Luc ended up not minding much because it meant he got all the eggs, candy, and coins.

LUC

Luc is adding small numbers together in his head, like: "1 plus 3 is 4." and "1 plus 1 plus 2 is 4."
He is getting better at recognizing letters in both uppercase and lowercase. And he is using a Super Why app to help learn how to spell certain words. Luc also loves to rhyme words. He'll be talking about something and at the end of his thought, he'll think of a word that rhymes with one of the last words he just said in his sentence. Then he'll state: i.e.: "sand and hand rhyme, right?!"

Luc also started to have more interest in not only spelling but practicing tracing his letters.

He loves calling the back of things, or a butt, a Booty. Then he proceeds to call Aria a "Booty", while giggling. It sounds more like "Booooooo-TEe" which does sound pretty funny every time he says it.

Luc still has a very mechanical mind, or one for engineering. He loves to see how things work. Uncle Bill gave him a large magnet, and Luc's favorite thing now is finding the right metal that will make them stick together. Frederic's two new bracelets that I gave him for his birthday take part in Luc's play time. One of the bracelets has a magnetic closure, the other is a bike chain. So Luc is having a ball experimenting with these. He plays with it one day, and then the next day Daddy can wear it.
He enjoys playing with flashlights and turning the top to make the light range larger or smaller. Luc enjoys taking things apart and putting them back together; he loves his Battat plane that comes with actual screws and a screw driver that turns in both directions to screw in and out and put the plane's pieces together.
Luc loves that Grandpa set up his trains in the basement. His favorite part is using the controller to control the speed of the train as it goes around. He also loves to turn the switch to make the train change tracks.
I recently asked Luc what he wanted to be when he grew up. In the past, he didn't know what to say (even though I tried to explain what I meant and gave him ideas, he didn't know). This day he told me he wants to be an "engineer of trains". I think Grandpa found someone to pass all his Lionel trains down to.
