Since our deck is back a little from our neighbors on each side, the snow drifts made the snow fall over 30 inches.
Friday, I stayed home from work and telecommuted because the weathermen had no idea when it was going to start snowing. And when it started, they said it would come down fast. I didn't want to get stuck in any traffic trying to get the kids home, so I just worked from home that day.
We sat and waited. And waited some more. The snow finally started to come around 2pm.

We woke up the next morning to this:
When the wind wasn't too crazy, we ventured outside to help Daddy shovel the driveway.
We tried to stay inside as much as possible. And what else is there to do but watch the snow fall. And keep track of how much was accumulating on the deck. Yikes!
And then get nervous when it reached a point Aria could no longer look out the door...
Sunday, when the storm was over, we bundled up in a million layers to go outside. It took way too long to get everyone ready in their gear. Oh, how I love summer. Slip on a pair of flip flops and you're outside in 10 seconds. Winter- pile on more clothes than you could possibly move in, and 15 minutes later you're waddling out the door. Hope you used the bathroom before you started the exercise!

Aria didn't quite know what to make of all the snow. She looked at it, confused. Do I touch it? What is it all for? Why is there so much? What do you do with it? Is it food? You seemed annoyed by it, why do you want me to play in it? The snow is getting in my eyes- can we go inside?
When the snow outfit was fully on, she thought: How are you supposed to do anything in this? I can barely walk, Mommy. Hold me! I fell again, Mommy, help! I want to pick up this snow rock, but my mittens are useless. I'm just going to sit here and stare at this stuff.
It wasn't until Wednesday that we got a plow to clean our street. Sunday morning a bobcat came and did about 20 feet then left. Luckily, for the kids, he created huge mountains in the median grassy area. It made the perfect fort and slide. All the kids on the street came to play, dig tunnels, and go sledding.
